Hand-colored print, Good+, image by John Kay (1742-1826) - print-maker and miniaturist of Edinburgh, this depicts the duelist James Macrae, undated, print itself has "Kay 1790" as part of the image in lower left corner, below that is an added stamp: "Edin. S. S. Library" (with a superscript character above the period that could be a ’T’) - for the Edinburgh Select Subscription Library, item came to us mounted and matted with clear mylar over the image and with the print itself linen backed, item is now also protected in new clear plastic sleeve, matte: 9 in. x 12 in., paper: 6-15/16 in x 9-3/4 in., image: 4-5/8 in. x 7-3/16 in., dark grey matte board, matte has a small area of faint darkening near upper left corner as well as very minor bumping to corners, print shows light soil and slight wear to corners and edges, please SEE PHOTOS FOR CONDITION, (G+) [(s)1020KW] The print came to us with no provenance, but please do feel free to contact us with questions about this item - we are happy to provide further information if possible!
